2 Serial interface configuration

The system view appears.

Step 2 Run:

interface serial interface-number

The serial interface view appears.

Step 3 Run:

interface serial interface-number

The view of a specified serial interface appears.

Step 4 Run:

code nrzi

The command configures the link coding mode of the serial interface as nrzi.

If two synchronous serial interfaces are directly connecting, you must make consistent link
coding modes of the two interfaces. Otherwise, a data frame is decoded incorrectly and
discarded as a wrong frame.

By default, link coding mode of a serial interface is nrz.

2.2.7 Configuring idle mark between frames

Do as follows on the routers:

Step 1 Run:

system-view

The system view appears.

Step 2 Run:

interface serial interface-number

The serial interface view appears.

Step 3 Run:

idle-mark

The command configures the idle mark between frames as 0xFF.

By default, the idle mark is 0x7E.
