2 Serial interface configuration

The command configures the baud rate of the interface.

The synchronous serial interface supports different ranges of baud rate for different physical
electrical procedures.

V.24DTE/DCE: 1200 bit/s to 64000 bit/s

V35DCE/DCE, X.21DTE/DCE, EIA/TIA-449DTE/DCE and EIA-530DTE /DCE: 1200
bit/s to 2048000 bit/s

When two synchronous serial interfaces connect, the baud rate on the line is known at the

DCE side.

You set the baud rate when the interfaces act as DCE, should be set.

You are not required set the baud rate when the interfaces act as DTE.

The default baud rate of a synchronous serial interface is 64000 bit/s.

2.2.4 Configuring clock inversion

Do as follows on the routers:

Step 1 Run:

system-view

The system view appears.

Step 2 Run:

interface serial interface-number

The serial interface view appears.

Step 3 Run:

invert { transmit-clock | receive-clock }

The command configures the clock signals at the serial interface of the DTE to be invertible.

In certain special cases, the clock generates delay on the line. This may cause loss of
synchronization of the devices on both ends or a discarding of a large number of messages. In

this case, you can change the transmitted or sent clock signal at the synchronous serial

interface on the DTE to eliminate the delay.

CQ NOTE

The

invert transmit-clock

command is effective only to clock signals provided by DCEs. You

configure this command only on DTEs. You do not set clock inversion very often.

2.2.5 Configuring DCD or DSR signal detection
