10.5 Configuring the IPoEoA application
10.5.1 Establishing the configuration task
Applicable environment
To make ATM bear IPoE packets, you need to create PVC first.
Configure the IPoEoA application mapping on the PVC to enable the AAL5 to carry the IPoE
packets.
Preconfiguration tasks
Before configuring IPoEoA applications, complete the following tasks:
• Configuring physical attributes for ATM interface
• Creating a VE interface and configuring its IP address and mask
Data preparation
To configure IPoEoA applications, you need the following data.

1 Number of the ATM interface or sub-interface
2 IP address and mask of the ATM interface or sub-interface
3 PVC name, ATM network VPI and VCI
4 AAL5 encapsulation type
5 VE interface number
