2 Serial interface configuration

Checking the configuration
When required, you configure the PPP/HDLC/FR, DCC, and IP address on the synchronous
serial interface if required. Refer to the relevant chapters in this manual for details.
2.2.2 Configuring link layer protocol type
Do as follows on the routers:
Step 1 Run:
system-view
The system view appears.
Step 2 Run:
interface serial interface-number
The serial interface view appears.
Step 3 Run:
link-protocol { fr | hdlc | lapb | ppp | x25 }
The command configures the link layer protocol on the interface.
The type of the link layer protocol affects the link layer frame format of data that passes from
the synchronous serial interface.
By default, the link layer protocol adopts PPP
OQ NOTE
The synchronous serial interface channelized by the RTP116CT1 interface card and the RTP116CE1
interface card supports only the protocols such as PPP and HDLC.
