A.1.3 CONNECT A PROJECTOR?

TriCaster secondary output connector is used by the VGA Output feature. (This output can serve
as a supplementary program output for projection, or for operational monitoring purposes – see
Section 6.9.5).

1. With TriCaster powered down, connect the external device to the secondary output on

the backplate using an appropriate cable (and/or adapter, if required).

2. Power up TriCaster.

3. Launch the Live Production desktop (if necessary), and click the External tab.

4. Set Resolution in the Output to VGA section of the tabbed pane to match the native

resolution of the external device.

Note: Changing Output Resolution can cause frames to be dropped briefly. Changing this setting
during live production is not recommended.

A.1.4 CONNECT TELEVISION MONITORS?

Connect cables between downstream devices (whether monitors or other devices) and
appropriately labeled connectors in the Video Out group on TriCaster’s faceplate (see Section
4.4.1).

Downstream video monitors must be compatible with the video broadcast standard (such as
NTSC or PAL) your TriCaster is configured to output.

A.1.5 GET TRICASTER’S ADDITIONAL VIDEO OUTPUTS TO WORK?

TriCaster has one DVI port for the user interface, and a second for ‘VGA’ output. Additional video
outputs on the motherboard are non-functional, and are capped off when TriCaster is shipped.

A.1.6 CONNECT A SUPPORTED EXTERNAL CONTROL SURFACE?

Connect the USB cable from the Control Surface to one of TriCaster’s USB ports.
