AVI

AVI codecs are plentiful. Most are suitable for DDR playback, but a few are not. However, we
strongly discourage installing ‘foreign’ codecs, codec packs and the like downloaded from
internet sites, etc.

For the sake of stability, if an AVI clip does not play well in the DDR, please consider converting it
to a ‘friendlier’ format. We can recommend NewTek’s own SpeedHQ, or perhaps DV.

A.2.5 SELECT A RANDOM SWIT CHER TRANSITION?

To activate random transition from the current bin, press Alt + /.

A.2.6 FLIP THE VIDEO IMAGE?

Certain studio setups (such as cooking or crafts shows) require flipped video at times. Some
cameras provide a switch to flip the image, but this feature introduces a short delay into that
camera’s output. Instead, use NewTek LiveSet Utility to flip that video in real-time, without any
additional latency.

A.2.7 RUN THIRD-PARTY PROGRAMS ON MY TRICASTER?

Installing third-party applications on a TriCaster is not recommended and will likely cause
performance and stability issues. There is also no way the operator can run TriCaster while still
maintaining full access to Windows™ at the same time. Further, any applications that capture the
screen will degrade TriCaster performance very dramatically.

A.2.8 GET TRICASTER’S TEXT MODULE TO UPDATE MODIFIED TEXT

ATTRIBUTES?

TriCaster caches some title page data until the file is removed from the Text module playlist.
Remove and then re-add pages to the playlist to refresh them.
