32.3 total-rate

Use this command to configure a group shaping rate in an SAP egress policy. The group shaping in an

SAP egress policy rate-limits the total bandwidth leaving from the egress UNI for relevant EVC. There is

no default value assigned for the total rate immediately after the SAP egress policy being created. So, to

associate the egress SAP policy with some EVCs, user should configure the total-rate manually.

Command Syntax

total-rate RATE

RATE: The group shaping rate, whose value ranges from 0 to 1000, 000 kbps.

Command Mode

SAP Egress Policy Configuration

Usage

1. The total-rate should be at least be the sum rate of queue-rate of queue 1 - queue 3.

2. An SAP egress policy can be associated with multiple EVCs, the total-rate is not to limit the total

traffic of all EVCs, but to rate-limit the maximum allowed bandwidth at egress UNI for each EVC

separately.

Examples

In the following example, the total-rate command is used to shape a EVC’s total traffic in conforming to

20Mbps at the egress UNI direction.

Switch(config)# qos sap-egress evc110-policy-at-egress-uni

Switch(config-sap-egress)# total-rate 20000
