traceroute command in privileged EXEC mode.


Command Syntax

traceroute [ip-address | ip ip-address | ipv6 ipv6-address | vrf name ip-address]

ip-address

The target IP address.

ipv6-address

The target IPv6 address.

vrf name

For a specific VRF instance.


Command Mode

Privileged EXEC


Usage

When not specified, the protocol argument is determined by the software examining the format of the

destination argument. For example, if the software finds a destination argument in IP format, the protocol

value defaults to IP.


Examples

The following example is sample dialog from the traceroute command using default values.

Switch# traceroute 192.168.0.1

To specify the system image that the switch loads at startup, use one of the following boot system

commands in privileged EXEC mode.


Command Syntax

boot system file-name

file-name

The file name that will be used to load at starup.

Switch# boot system flash:/boot/
