40.80 clear line vty

To clear a specified line session, use the clear line vty command in privileged EXEC mode.


Command Syntax

clear line vty first [last]

first

The first vty number, the range is 0 to 7.

last

The last vty number, the range is 0 to 7.


Command Mode

Privileged EXEC


Usage

You can specify only the first vty number to clear a specific vty session, or you can specify the last vty

number at the same time to clear a range of vty sessions.


Examples

The following is sample output from the clear line vty command.

Switch# clear line vty 0 7

[OK]

To change the username that has been created in local database, use the re-username command in

global configuration mode.


Command Syntax

re-username oldname newname newname

oldname

The original username.

newname

The new username.

Usage

This command can change the usernames only in local database.
