tx-period seconds

Number of seconds that the switch waits for a response to an

EAP-request/identity frame from the client before retransmitting

the request. The range is 1 to 65535.


Default

These are the default settings:

reauth-period is 3600 seconds.

tx-period is 30 seconds.

supp-timeout is 30 seconds.

server-timeout is 30 seconds.

Usage

You should change the default value of this command only to adjust for unusual circumstances such as

unreliable links or specific behavioral problems with certain clients and authentication servers.

The dot1x timeout reauth-period interface configuration command affects the behavior of the switch

only if you have enabled periodic re-authentication by using the dot1x reauthentication interface

configuration command.


Examples

The following is sample output from the dot1x timeout command:

Switch(config-if)# dot1x reauthentication

Switch(config-if)# dot1x timeout reauth-period 4000

To improve RADIUS response times when some servers might be unavailable and cause the

unavailable servers to be skipped immediately, use the radius-server deadtime command in global

configuration mode. To set dead-time to default value, use the no form of this command.


Command Syntax

radius-server deadtime minutes

no radius-server deadtime

minutes

Length of time, in minutes, for which a RADIUS server is skipped over by transaction

requests, the range is 1 to 20.
