Usage

The system internally keeps time in UTC, so this command is used only for display purposes and when

the time is manually set.


Examples

The following example sets the time zone to Pacific Standard Time (PST), which is 8 hours behind UTC:

Switch(config)# clock set timezone PST minus 8

The following example sets the time zone to Atlantic Time (AT) for Newfoundland, Canada, which is 3.5

hours behind UTC:

Switch(config)# clock set timezone AT minus 3 30

To configure the system to automatically switch to summer time (daylight saving time), use one of the

formats of the clock set summer-time command in global configuration mode. To configure the switch

not to automatically switch to summer time, use the no form of this command.


Command Syntax

clock set summer-time zone recurring month day hh:mm month day hh:mm offset

clock set summer-time zone date month date year hh:mm month date hh:mm year offset

no clock summer-time

zone

Name of the time zone to be displayed when standard time is in effect. The length of

the zone argument is limited to 32 characters.

recurring

Indicates that summer time should start and end on the corresponding specified days

every year.

date

Indicates that summer time should start on the first specific date listed in the

command and end on the second specific date in the command.
