• The EDIUS software is installed.
Before running EDIUS software for the first time after installation, it is required that the GV
STRATUS application be run once.
1. Log on to the GV STRATUS application.
2. Close the GV STRATUS application.
Configure GVAdmin account
This task applies to a computer on which EDIUS software is installed, as follows:
• GV STRATUS/EDIUS client PC
• EDIUS XRE Server
Prerequisites for this task are as follows:
• GV STRATUS software is installed on the computer.
• EDIUS software is installed on the computer.
Add the internal system account, which by default is GVAdmin, to the Administrators group on
the computer.
Activate EDIUS XRE Server license
Only the EDIUS XRE Server requires this process.
This is an EDIUS license. You install it on the EDIUS XRE Server.
If you received your system pre-configured from Grass Valley, licenses are already installed, so
you can skip these tasks. Otherwise, do the following:
1. Activate the EDIUS XRE Server license in one of the following ways:
• If the EDIUS XRE Server is connected to the Internet, use online activation.
• If the EDIUS XRE Server is not connected to the Internet, use offline activation.
2. Follow tasks in this section as appropriate for your choice of online or offline activation.
Activate EDIUS XRE Server license online
Only the EDIUS XRE Server requires this process.
Before doing this task, verify the following:
• XRE Management Server/XRE Node and XRE Monitor (management mode) is completely
installed.
• The EDIUS XRE Server has a connection to the Internet.
This is an EDIUS license. You install it on the EDIUS XRE Server.
