The 489 calculates the average magnitude of several parameters over a period of time. This time is specified by

S1 489

setpoint (default 15 minutes). The calculation is a slid-

ing window and is ignored when the generator is offline (that is, the value that was calculated just prior to going offline will
be held until the generator is brought back online and a new calculation is made). Parameter averages will not update if a
digital input programmed as Test Input is shorted.
