Optional Failover of Redundant Servers On Process Controller
Communications Subsystem Failure

The ProcessLogix Server has been enhanced in this release to
optionally failover redundant servers on Process Controller
communications subsystem failure.

A check box has been added to the Server Redundancy configuration
display (sysCfgRedundantServer) as follows:

The ProcessLogix Control Data Access Server service is stopped
via the Windows Control Panel.

The RSLinx service is stopped via the Windows Control Panel
(this will also stop the ProcessLogix Control Data Access Server
service)

RSLinx terminates abnormally or a critical Process Controller
communications failure is detected.

TIP

If a critical Process Controller communications failure
is detected on either the primary or the backup
ProcessLogix server, the ProcessLogix Control Data
Access Server service will also be stopped on that
server.
