Item Description

VLAN ID

This field displays the ID of the VLAN to be configured.

IGMP snooping

Enable or disable IGMP snooping in the VLAN.
You can proceed with the subsequent configurations only if Enable is selected

here.

Version

By configuring an IGMP snooping version, you actually configure the versions of
IGMP messages that IGMP snooping can process.

IGMP snooping version 2 can process IGMPv1 and IGMPv2 messages, but not

IGMPv3 messages, which will be flooded in the VLAN.

IGMP snooping version 3 can process IGMPv1, IGMPv2, and IGMPv3

messages.

Drop Unknown

Enable or disable the function of dropping unknown multicast packets.
Unknown multicast data refers to multicast data for which no entries exist in the
IGMP snooping forwarding table.

With the function of dropping unknown multicast data enabled, the switch

drops all the unknown multicast data received.

With the function of dropping unknown multicast data disabled, the switch

floods unknown multicast data in the VLAN to which the unknown multicast

data belong.

Querier

Enable or disable the IGMP snooping querier function.
On a network without Layer 3 multicast devices, no IGMP querier-related function

can be implemented because a Layer 2 device does not support IGMP. To address
this issue, you can enable IGMP snooping querier on a Layer 2 device so that the

device can generate and maintain multicast forwarding entries at data link layer,

thereby implementing IGMP querier-related functions.

Query interval

Configure the IGMP query interval.

General Query Source IP Specify the source IP address of general queries

Special Query Source IP

Specify the source IP address of group-specific queries
