7.12.2.6

Angle of tilt

Application with a slope (slide)
For the angle of tilt, only a positive value (slope) can be entered. However, you can dimension an ap-

plication with a slope by specifying a negative speed. If the application is moving on a slope with

negative speed, it goes backwards.
Procedure:

• Enter the value of the slope into the Angle of tilt input field.
• Enter the value with a negative sign into the Speed input field.

Symbol

Description

β

Angle of tilt (gradient)

• The value can be entered in degrees or as a percentage.

• The max. angle of tilt as a first approximation is: arctan

β ≥

arctan(μ

L

)

(static friction between load and belt).

Symbol

Description

μ

Gdn

Coefficient of friction between the belt and the supporting surface

• Value can be entered directly or selected from the "Physical coefficients" table.

Coefficient of friction for rolls

Symbol

Description

μ

aux

Coefficient of friction between the supporting rolls and the belt

• If μ

aux

= 0, the friction by the supporting rolls is disregarded.

• Value can be entered directly or selected from the "Physical coefficients" table.

Coefficient of friction for rolls

Speed of the belt

• Value is entered in the Motion dimensioning step.

Symbol

Description
