Mechanical brake selection

There are two types of brakes for Lenze motors:

• Spring-applied brakes for three-phase AC motors and servo motors.
• Permanent magnet holding brakes for servo motors.

According to their function, the brakes are distinguished as follows:

The diagram below shows the braking torques of spring-applied brakes (BFK) and permanent mag-

net holding brakes (PMB) as a function of the motor speed.
