Intermittent operation S3, S4, S5

The intermittent operation consists of a sequence of identical cycles, each of which including an op-

erating time with constant load and a downtime.
Starting and braking times as well as inertias are characteristics of the respective operating mode:

• S3: The starting current is irrelevant for the motor heating.
• S4: The starting process is thermally relevant in addition.
• S5: The brake reaction is additionally relevant.
