Motor/gearbox: Direct mounting or standard mounting

Many Lenze gearboxes are provided for direct mounting. The first pinion of the gearbox is directly

mounted to the motor shaft. By this, coupling elements and possible torque limitations by clutches

are not required, and the drive is provided with a higher mechanical stiffness.
Standard mounting means coupling the motor shaft with the gearbox shaft via a clutch. The cou-

pling flanges of the motor and the gearbox are coupled via an adapter.

Tip!
Standard mounting allows for a larger variety of motor-gearbox combinations. In addition,

the motor can be replaced more easily if necessary.

• Create an alternative DSD project and select standard mounting in the Drive concept

dimensioning step if you cannot find a suitable solution with the direct mounting se-

lection.

• Compare the differences, e.g. via the Project comparison.
