14.2.2

Optimising the single-axis application

1. Dimension a drive axis in DSD.
2. Create an alternative of the DSD project and carry out the dimensioning with alternative drive

components.

3. Compare both projects regarding the energy efficiency.

• If required, check if changes of the motion profile have a positive effect on the energy bal-

ance.

14.2.3

Optimising the multi-axis application

1. Create the motion profiles for the drive axes in the independent MotionDesigner and optimise

them with regard to realistic conditions so that as much energy as possible will be exchanged

in the DC-bus connection.

2. Dimensioning drive axes in DSD.
3. Create one alternative each of the DSD projects and execute the dimensioning with alternative

drive components.

4. Compare the projects regarding the energy efficiency.
5. Load the optimised DSD projects of the drive axes into the application "Dimensioning the multi-

axis system" and configure the multi-axis system.
