To Configure the Community Name

Select the [Use Community Name 1] or [Use Community Name 2] checkbox, and configure the
community name and MIB Access Permission.
Enter the community name using single-byte alphanumeric characters.

To Configure a Dedicated Community

Dedicated Community is a preset community for Canon Device Management software.
To use Dedicated Community, select the [Use Dedicated Community] checkbox, and configure MIB Access
Permission.

To Disable SNMPv1

Clear the [Use SNMPv1] checkbox.

In [SNMPv3 Settings], configure SNMPv3.

To Enable SNMPv3

Select the [Use SNMPv3] checkbox.

In [User Settings 1], [User Settings 2], or [User Settings 3], select the [Enable User] checkbox.

Configure the user.

[User Name]
Enter the user name using single-byte alphanumeric characters.

[MIB Access Permission]
Set the read/write permission to MIB objects for each specified user.
To allow both read and write, select [Read/Write].

[Security Settings]
Select whether to enable or disable authentication and encryption.

[Authentication Algorithm]
When [Authentication On/Encryption On] or [Authentication On/Encryption Off] is selected in [Security
Settings], select the authentication algorithm according to the usage environment.
To set a password, select the [Set/Change Password] checkbox, and enter the same password in both
[Authentication Password] and [Confirm] using single-byte alphanumeric characters.

[Encryption Algorithm]
When [Authentication On/Encryption On] is selected in [Security Settings], select the encryption algorithm
according to the usage environment.
To set a password, select the [Set/Change Password] checkbox, and enter the same password in both
[Encryption Password] and [Confirm] using single-byte alphanumeric characters.

To Disable SNMPv3

Clear the [Use SNMPv3] checkbox.
