Resets the session if a link to an EBGP peer goes down.

Command Modes
BGP configuration mode
Description
Use this command to terminate and reset external BGP sessions of an directly adjacent peer if the
link to the peer goes down, without waiting for the timer, set by the BGP timers command, to
expire.
Usage Guidelines
This can improve BGP conversion time, but can also lead to instability in the BGP routing table as a
result of a flapping interface.
Use the no form of this command to restore the default.
Examples
To configure the device to reset the session if a link to an EBGP peer goes down:
switch(config)# rbridge-id 10
switch(config-rbridge-id-10)# router bgp
switch(config-bgp-router)# fast-external-failover
