Scouting on Parameters within a Method

Depending on the parameter you chose on Page 1, you can select individual steps

to scout or you can select the checkbox to scout all steps in the method in which

the properties for that parameter from the method settings are enabled. All steps

that you select are highlighted.

If you select Include all steps where <parameter> from Method Settings is

enabled, the following rules apply:

Steps that have the parameter Use <parameter> from Method Settings

is enabled selected are automatically included in the scout.

Steps that do not have the parameter Use <parameter> from Method

Settings is enabled selected are not included.

Steps that are not included can still be selected. Steps that are included

can be canceled from the scout. In both cases, the checkbox Include all

steps where <parameter> from Method Settings is enabled is cleared.

If you do not select Include all steps where <parameter> from Method Settings

is enabled, the following rules apply:

Only steps that include the scouted parameter can be selected.

Multiple steps might share the same parent setting. In these cases,

selecting one step selects all steps in the group.

Steps that cannot be selected are grayed out.

If the scouted parameter values do not match in all steps that you select,

the following message appears below the table: “You have selected steps

with different starting values. Please deselect these steps or change the

starting value to proceed.”

You can clear previously selected steps. The following rules apply:

You can clear individual steps or groups of steps.

If you clear a step when the parameter Include all steps where

<parameter> from Method Settings is enabled is selected, the
