Serial data interface ports

The Media Card has two serial data interface ports on the master MSP. The
installation menu can by accessed through either port.

TTY settings

The default tty settings for both ports are:

Baud rate: 9600.

Data bit length: 8.

Stop bit: 1.

Parity: none.

Flow control: none.

Faceplate LED display

The faceplate on the Media Card has a four character LED display. The
diagnostic messages summarized in the following table are displayed on
the faceplate during system bootup.

Message

Description

BOOT

This is the first message displayed when the system becomes active.

POST

Power on self test. This message is displayed when the Voice Gateway
Media card is carrying out system tests during power up.

PASS

Power on self test pass.

EXXX

Error code. XXX is a numeric value. An error code is displayed if a serious
system error is detected.

LOAD

Application software is loading.

In a normal boot process the diagnostic messages would be displayed in
the following order:

1. BOOT

2. POST

3. PASS
