PanelBuilder Basics

PanelBuilder uses a spreadsheet editor to:

edit states of multistate and list objects

view and edit all text in the application

edit alarms and triggers

The conventions of using the spreadsheet are the same regardless of
what PanelBuilder operation you are performing.

Each row defines data for one state of a multistate or list object, one
alarm, one trigger or one text string in the application. Each cell
represents one field of data in a row.

Some cells require you to:

enter text

select an option from a drop-down list

click a box to toggle an option on (✕) or off

Cell or Field

Drag to shrink
row height or column width

Column

Cursor

Each spreadsheet has a
popup menu to perform
operations.

Selecting Rows, Cells, or Columns

To select a cell:

Click on the cell, or press

TAB

or the arrow keys.

A gray border around the cell indicates the cell is selected.

To select a block of cells:

1. Select a cell in one corner of the block you want to select.

2. Hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse until the

desired selection is highlighted.

Or hold down the

SHIFT

key and use the arrow keys to highlight

the block.
