Configuring Denial of Service Defense

To configure DoS defense, perform the following procedure:

1. From the Main Menu, type 8 to select Security Configuration.

The Security Configuration menu is shown in Figure 175 on page
559.

2. From the Security Configuration menu, type 2 to select Denial of

Service (DoS).

The Denial of Service (DoS) menu is shown in Figure 211.

3. If you are implementing the SMURF or Land defense, you must

provide the IP address of a node connected to the switch and a
subnet mask. For the Land defense, you must also specify an uplink
port. To do this, complete the following steps. Otherwise, go to step 4.

a. Type 1 to select LAN IP Subnet.

The LAN IP Subnet menu is shown in Figure 212.
