Chapter 11: Static Port Trunking Commands

202

Section I: Basic Operations

Description

This command is used to create new static port trunks and to add ports to
existing trunks. If you specify an unused TGID, the command creates a
new static port trunk. If you specify the TGID of an existing trunk, the
designated ports are added to the trunk.

This command has the following restrictions:

ˆ

You cannot assign names to new trunks. New trunks are assigned the
name “sa” followed by the TGID.

ˆ

You cannot set the load distribution method. New trunks are assigned
the default load distribution method of source address/destination
MAC address.

ˆ

When you create a static port trunk with the other management
interfaces, the TGID is assigned automatically and is the next
available number. In the AlliedWare Plus interface, you have to specify
the TGID. The range is 1 to 6.

Example

This example creates a new static port trunk of ports 11 and 12, with the
TGID number 2. If there is already a static port trunk with the same TGID,
the commands add the ports to it:

awplus> enable
awplus# configure terminal
awplus(config)# interface 11-12
awplus(config-if)# static-channel-group 2
