Save the new password by pressing OK.

Use OK to exit the password display and proceed with ESC and

to the

RANGE… menu.

The scope of the password has not yet been considered. The password is now
valid but not yet activated.

Selecting the Scope of the Password

1.

Press the OK button.

2.

Select the function to be protected or the menu.

3.

Press the OK button to protect the function or menu (tick = protected).

• CIRCUIT DIAGRAM: The password is effective on the program with

circuit diagram and non-enabled function blocks.

• PARAMETERS: The PARAMETERS menu is protected.
• TIME: Date and time are protected with the password.
• OPERATING MODE: The toggling of the RUN or STOP operating

mode is protected.

• INTERFACE: The interface is inhibited for access to a connected

device. Programs or commands to other devices connected via the
Pico-Link are routed further.

• DELETE FUNCTION: After four failed attempts to enter a password,

the “DELETE FUNCTION?” prompt appears. This prompt is not
displayed if selected. However, it is no longer possible to make changes
in protected areas if you forget the password.
