Data transfer to/from an external data medium

Before you can transfer data to an external data

medium, you must set up the data interface (see

"Setting up data interfaces", page 541).
Depending on the data transfer software you use,

problems can occur occasionally when you transmit

data over a serial interface. They can be overcome by

repeating the transmission.

Call the File Manager

Select the screen layout for data transfer: press
the

WINDOW soft key.

Use the arrow keys to highlight the file(s) that you want to transfer:

Moves the highlight up and down within a window

Moves the highlight from the right to the left

window, and vice versa

If you wish to copy from the TNC to the external data medium,

move the highlight in the left window to the file to be transferred.
If you wish to copy from the external data medium to the TNC,

move the highlight in the right window to the file to be transferred.

Select another drive or directory: Press the

SHOW

TREE soft key
Use the arrow keys to select the desired directory
Select the desired file: Press the

SHOW FILES soft

key
Use the arrow keys to select the file
Transfer a single file: Press the

COPY soft key

Confirm with the

OK soft key or with the ENT key. A status

window appears on the TNC, informing about the copying

progress, or

Stop transfer: Press the

WINDOW soft key. The

TNC displays the standard file manager window

again
