HEIDENHAIN only gives warranty for the function of

the probing cycles if HEIDENHAIN touch probes are

used.

You can identify the intersection of two straight lines

by holes or studs and set this as the datum. For each

straight line however, probing must only be with two

identical touch probe functions (e.g. two holes).

The "Corner as datum" probing cycle identifies the angle and

intersection of two straight lines. In addition to datum setting, the

cycle can also activate a basic rotation. The TNC has two soft keys

for you to decide which straight line you wish to use for this. The
soft key

ROT 1 activates the angle of the first straight line as basic

rotation and the soft key

ROT 2 the angle of the second straight

line.
If you wish to activate the basic rotation in the cycle, you must

always do this before datum setting. After you set a datum or write
to a zero point or preset table the

ROT 1 and ROT 2 soft keys are

no longer displayed.
