4.12 Automation

The automation commands, with the exception of the subsequence, are

only active when a USB Sample Processor has been configured in the

Device manager (see Section 3.10). A connected USB Sample Proces-

sor is controlled with these commands in the method sequence.

4.12.1 Move (MOVE)

The MOVE command is used to move to a rack position or an external

position.
Tower: The required tower can be selected here. Both Tower 1 and

Tower 2 are always available for selection, even if your USB Sample

Processor only has one tower. If you accidentally select the non-

existent tower then the corresponding error message will appear af-

ter the start of the method.

Destination: This is the target position for the MOVE command.

Sample

gives the rack position that is defined by the current sample

variable. The sample variable is automatically increased by one af-

ter each method sequence. Under Method options/Start op-

tions

you can switch off this automatic increase. With the SAMPLE

command (see Section 4.12.5) the sample variable can also be se-

lectively altered.
If the USB Sample Processor is equipped with a Swing Head then

four external positions can be moved to.
Special beakers

must be defined in the rack table under Edit de-

vice/Rack tables

.

When selecting Rack position each absolute position of a rack

can be moved to directly.
With Current sample +/- a particular rack position relative to the

current sample as defined by the sample variable can be moved to.
With Next/Previous position the next or previous rack position

will be moved to starting from the current rack position.
Calibration pos.

is used when automatic calibration is to be car-

ried out with a USB Sample Processor (see Section 4.7).
