Security Update
Installation

Checking for the Internet Explorer 6.0 Security Update

All systems are required to install the Internet Explorer Security Update. The
task must be performed after Internet Explorer 6.0 has been installed.

Perform the follow tasks to see if your system has the package already
installed:

1. Logon to the system as Administrator.

2. Start Internet Explorer.

3. Click Help

About Internet Explorer.

4. Check the Update Versions information:

• If the Update Version is q319182, close Internet Explorer and skip to

Updating Windows Installer on page 2-36.

• If the Update Version is not q319182, close Internet Explorer and

continue with Installing Security Update for Internet Explorer 6.0 on
page 2-35.

TIP

If this is the first time start since the Windows 2000
operating system install, it will be necessary to remove the
default startup screens. Refer to Removing the Default
Startup Screens on page P-4
.

IMPORTANT

If this is the first time running Internet Explorer on
Windows XP, you will be prompted with the New
Connection Wizard.

An internet connection is not required for this function or
ProcessLogix software use. However, components in the
software are required.

Fill in the appropriate information if known, otherwise
follow the steps listed here:

a. Click Cancel on the Location Information Window.

b. Click Yes to confirm.

c. Click Cancel at the New Connection Wizard window.

d. Start Internet Explorer.
