Confirming the operational state of ATM line
When ATM line is used in connecting a line from the router to a network, confirm the
operational state with the procedure below. See Subsection 7.4.3, “ATM line cannot
be connected” for measures to be taken when the operational state is abnormal.
1. Execute a show interfaces command and confirm that the display in display item
<NIF state> is "active" (in normal operation) and that the display in <Line state>
is "active up" (in normal operation).

2. Execute a show atm command and confirm that the display in display item <VC
state> is "up" (in normal operation).

3. When the remote router of VC supports an F5 OAM loop-back cell, execute a ping
atm command and confirm whether the communication between relevant VCs
can be performed ("Received" is displayed).
