Communication failure in NTP

7.15.1

Time synchronization cannot be achieved by NTP

If time synchronization cannot be achieved by NTP, isolate the cause following the
fault analysis methods described below.

Confirm that a time zone is defined in the
configuration definition information.

Go to Item 2, if there is a time zone defined in the configuration
definition information.

If there is no time zone defined in the configuration definition
information, define one.

By the date command, check to see
whether time zone configuration
definition is reflected.

Go to Item 3, if the displayed result of the command contains time
zone information.

If the displayed result of the command contains no time zone
information, restart the unit and reflect time zone information.

Check the time difference between the
unit and the NTP server.

Go to item (4), if the time difference between the unit and the NTP
server remains within 1000 seconds.

If the time difference between the unit and the NTP server is longer
than 1000 seconds, set the time of the unit to the time of the NTP
server using the date command.

Check communication with the NTP
server by IPv4.

With the ping command, check to see if IPv4communication is
possible between the NTP server and the unit.

Confirm that there is no setting, among the NTP server settings, that
discards the packet with UDP port No. 123.
