Maintenance Procedure

Step 1. Stop operation of the target NIF board:
Stop operation of the NIF to be removed. Enter the command below from
the device management terminal.
close [-f] nif <NIF No.> [CR]
Step 2. Remove the target NIF board:
After confirming that the STATUS LED of the target NIF board is lit yellow,
remove the NIF board. This confirmation should be made even if the RP that
the NIF is attached to has been stopped operating. For details of the
removal procedure, see the GR2000 Installation Guide.
Step 3. Install the new NIF board:
Insert the NIF board in the empty NIF slot. For details on how to insert the
board, see the GR2000 Installation Guide.
Step 4. Start operation of the new NIF board:
When the RP board to which the new NIF is installed has been active, set
the status of the new NIF to operating by entering the command below from
the device management terminal.
free nif <NIF No.> [CR] (NIF No.: Target NIF number)
When the RP board to which the new NIF is installed has not been active,
set the status of the subject RP to operating, entering the command below
from the device management terminal. As a result, all the NIFs under the
subject RP automatically become operating.
free rp <RP No.> [CR] (RP No.: Target RP number)
