Step 2.

Ensure that the Null interface is correctly defined to the current
configuration information.

Step 3.

Use the

show ipv6 route

command to inspect the route information that this

device has obtained. Ensure that the static route information has been
correctly defined.

Step 4.

Using the

show ipv6 interface

command, ensure that the packet is discarded

on the Null interface.

7.8.1.10

Confirmation of Tag-VLAN Setting Information

Even if IP interface information and path information are properly set to this router it
is still possible that communication will not be carried out if packets are discarded
because Tag-VLAN information has been incorrectly set or has not been set at all.
The procedure for confirming this router’s Tag-VLAN setting information is described
below.

Step 1.

Log in to this router.

Step 2.

Confirm the Tag-VLAN setting information (the existence of VLAN entry
information and the validity of VLAN-ID) using a show interface command.

Step 3.

Confirm the Tag-VLAN set information (existence of VLAN setting) using a
show interfaces command when Tag-VLAN set information is normal
(VLANK entry information exists and VLAN-ID is correct).

Step 4.

Confirm the Tag-VLAN set information (VLAN-ID) on an NDP entry using a
show ipv6 neighbors command when static NDP is set.

There is no problem in Tag-VLAN setting of this router when it can be confirmed,
using the commands above, that Tag-VLAN is set properly. There may be a problem
in the setting of a connection unit (e.g., LAN switch) when VLAN has not been set or
when VLAN-ID does not coincide). Therefore, confirm the connection unit’s setting
information.

7.8.1.11

Confirmation on Information Set for the Tunnel Interface

If communication destined to a specific network or to a specific terminal is not
possible under condition that the tunnel interface is set in this router, there is a
possibility that an error exists in the set contents of the tunnel interface/network
configuration. Confirm whether the set contents of the tunnel interface/network
configuration are correct by executing the following procedure.

<Is communication possible in the tunnel interface?>

Confirm whether the setting is correct in the tunnel interface of the

operating configuration defining information.

Confirm the status of the tunnel interface by executing the

interface-s command.

Confirm conduction by executing the ping/ping6 command.

Confirm route information by executing the

show ip route/ip6 show route command.
