1.1 Management Operation of the GR2000
After setting up the GR2000 router, turn on the router and the device management
terminal to start the device management operation. At the device management
terminal that is connected to this router, use the operation and configuration
commands to confirm the router status or to modify the configuration information
after any change in the connected network.
Table 1-1 lists the device management terminal types. Figure 1-1 and Figure 1-2
outline the device operation management. For the actual operation steps, see
Chapter 2, which gives the command-based operation information.

No. Terminal Types Outline
1 Console Connects to the GR2000 with an RS232C cable and locally logs in to
the GR2000.
2 Remote (remote login) Remotely connects to the GR2000 over the network and logs in to
the GR2000 (e.g., with Telnet); communication with the router is
performed via TCP/IP.
3 Remote (Web browser) Remotely connects to the GR2000 over the network and
communicates with GR2000 via the Web browser.
