Troubleshooting

GR2K-GA-0015

7-29

Ver. 07-02

(b) To Check for the Possibility that a Packet is Discarded by the Bandwidth Control
Function of QoS

Step 1.

Login to this router.

Step 2.

Confirm if any packet is discarded at the input/output interface by the
bandwidth control function of QoS using the

show qos ip-flow

command.

[Example]

Confirm if a packet has been discarded by the bandwidth control function of
QoS, where the input interface name of the communication failed packet is
tokyo1 and the source IP address of the same packet is 170.10.11.21.

Step 1.

Login to this router.

Step 2.

Enter the

show qos ip-flow detail

command:

> show qos ip-flow detail

<QoS IP List No.>: 1

Using Interface:tokyo1/in

source ip :170.10.11.21 -170.10.11.30

packets of 1000000bps and under(priority3 discard4) : 7021

packets of 1000000bps over (drop) : 729

forward packets : 461

<QoS IP List No.>: 2

Using Interface:tokyo2/out

protocol :6 destination port :20 -21

hit packets (priority8 discard4) : 11568793

>

Step 3.

Confirm that the input interface name is <QoS IP List No.> of tokyo1. In the
example described above, <QoS IP List No.>: 1 is applied.

Step 4.

Compare the flow conditions confirmed in step 3 with the contents of a
packet that cannot be communicated. Confirm that the operation of <QoS
IP List No.> in which the flow conditions match the contents is not
discarded.

In this example, since the IP address from which a packet is transmitted is
170.10.11.21, it matches <QoS IP List No.>: 1. The operation when the
contract band of <QoS IP List No.>: 1 is violated (packets of 1,000,000 bps
over (drop)) is discarded, so the packet may be discarded by the band
control of an input interface’s QoS function.

(c) To check for the possibility that a packet is discarded by the queue control function
of QoS

Step 1.

Login to this router.

Step 2.

Confirm if any packet is discarded at the input/output interface by the
queue control function of QoS using the

show qos queueing

command.

[Example]

Confirm if a packet has been discarded by the queue control function of QoS,
where the output interface of the communication failed packet is NIF1 Line No. 3.

Step 1.

Login to this router.

Step 2.

Enter the

show qos queueing nif 1 line 3 input

:

> show qos queueing nif 1 line 3 input

NIF1 Line3: 10BASE-T half TX

Interface name: tokyo1

Limit Qlen : 255

Priority1 Qlen : 87 Priority2 Qlen : 112
