> no bert pattern nif 1 line 2 [CR]

The result will appear as shown in Figure4-42 where you must make sure that:

“Total Bit Errors” count is 0 (normal).
If “Total Bit Errors” count is 0, the result is normal.

Figure 8-42 Sample Result of BERT and no BERT WAN Line

(10)Remote Payload Loopback Test for WAN Line:

This test loops back each test frame at the other end device in units of physical
layer frame (data part only), thus useful for the fault location at a line failure and
for the checkout after the recovery of such a failure. The other end device must
also support the remote payload loopback test. The testing applies only to T1 line
(see note 2, below).

The remote payload loopback test can be performed by entering the

test interfaces

and

no test interfaces

commands from the device management terminal. For

example, to test line No.0 of NIF No. 1, enter the command lines as shown below:

> test interfaces nif 1 line 0 remote-payload [CR]

(Wait about 1 minute.)

> no test interfaces nif 1 line 0 [CR]

(11)Remote Line Inband Test for WAN Line:

This test provides an equivalent of remote line loopback test on such T1 lines
where the said loopback test is not executable. Specifically, if the frame format is
SF, or if the frame format is ESF and the data link is AT&T, perform this remote
line inband loopback test. The other end device must also support the remote
line inband loopback test.

The remote line inband loopback test can be performed by entering the

test

interfaces

and

no test interfaces

commands from the device management terminal.

*

Note: If “Total Bit Errors” is not 0, there is an apparent problem. Analyze the result in accordance

with the show bert, no bert information in GR2000 Operations Commands, Vol. 1.

*

Note: The result will appear in a similar manner as internal loopback test for WAN line.If “Test

Count” is 0, confirm the line status using show interfaces (T1) information GR2000
Operations Commands, Vol. 1
. If “Test Count” is not 0 and either “Send-NG” or
“Receive-NG” is not 0, analyze the result in accordance with (a) Internal Loopback Test for
WAN Line.

Note: T1 lines in T3 synchronous multiplex lines are not supported.
