CLI Type 1 Configuration Definition Information Editing

The CLI type 1 can execute the configuration definition command by using the
configuration definition command mode (see Subsection 3.2.4, “Prompt”). The
configuration definition command that can be specified and the method for
specifying its parameters have are similar to those performed on the UNIX shell
prompt (refer to the Configuration Guide). This chapter presents only the function
that supports the CLI editing of the configuration defining information.

3.4.1

Deletion of Option Definition by Using the delete Command

The definition of all configuration defining information can be deleted by designating
an option in the “delete” command. However, only one option can be designated per
input.

<Example>

A case where the location definition of the router configuration defining
information (router) is deleted.

(config)# delete router location
!(config)#

3.4.2

“Help” Indication of Parameters with a Hyphen (-)

The parameters with a hyphen (-) in the configuration definition command can
execute a command even without the hyphen (-), but if it is displayed with the “help”
function (refer to Subsection 3.2.6, “Help Function”), it must be either one with the
hyphen (-) or without the hyphen (-).

<Example>

A case where the parameter with hyphen (-) in the

router

command is displayed in

help.

(config)# router ?
-console_speed Set CONSOLE band rate to the number given
-contact Router contact

(abbreviated)
(config)# router

3.4.3

A Case where the Operation Command is Executed during CLI
Configuration Definition Editing

To execute the operation command during CLI type 1 configuration definition editing,
by using “quit” or “exit,” it is not necessary to switch the command input mode into
the operation command mode by the command reference of the configuration
definition.

1. A case where the new syntax operation command is executed:

Prefix “$” at the head of the command to be inputted.
