Figure 6-4 Display of login history

If the number of logs in history is large, the logs may be collected for causes other
erroneous input. Perform the check below sequentially until the cause is recognized.

1. Confirm "Forgot your password?" for all users of a login user name. If there is a

user who has forgotten his password, take measures after referring to Subsection
7.2.3,
“User has forgotten login password”.

2. Confirm using a show logging command that the passwords of a router

administrator or other users who use the same login user name are not changed
and then make all users, who use the login user name, confirm the passwords
thoroughly. See Subsection 6.3.2, “Confirming there are no failure logs” for how
to display the command history using a show logging command.

6.3.2

Confirming there are no failure logs

Confirm regularly that failure logs are not collected during operation. The failure logs
have no effect on any functions during operation. Pay careful attention therefore to
the failure log (low in the event level of a line failure) that may be passed over when it
occurs. The failure log can be displayed altogether using a "show logging | grep EVT"
or "show logging | grep ERR" command.

See Chapter 5 of GR2000 Operations Log and MIB Reference for the contents of a
failure log. See "Action" in Chapter 5 of GR2000 Operations Log and MIB Reference
or Chapter 7, “Troubleshooting” to take measures immediately if a failure is not
recovered when a show logging command is executed or if a failure occurs frequently.
