BPDU (Bridge Protocol Data Unit)

Frames exchanged between bridges.

Bandwidth control

A function for executing maximum bandwidth limits in interface units and minimum
guarantee, maximum bandwidth guarantee and surplus bandwidth allocation by
queue.

Boundary node

A node that integrates in DSCP and executes transfer action based on DSCP in DS
domains.

C

COPS (Common Open Policy Service)

A function for executing policy-based QoS control in cooperation with the policy
server for integrated control of policy-based networks. The COPS agent function is
an application on the client side that is recorded in the COPS protocol.

Classifier

A function for distinguishing flow from TCIP/IP headers and classifying and
integrating in DSCP based on the contracts of individual users. It is a function with
boundary nodes.

Configuration definition data files

Files that define the configuration and behavior conditions in line with the network
usage environment. These files are stored in MC in text file format.

Configuration definition data files are in the following types:

Current configuration definition data files
Used to activate the device. Operations are executed according to the
configuration definition data.

Standby configuration definition data files
They are copies of current configuration definition data files or are used for
editing purposes in case of future network changes.

Temporarily stored configuration definition data files
The original pre-edited configuration definition data files are temporarily saved if
configuration definition data file are changed during operation and stored in MC.

D

DHCP/BOOTP Relay Agent function

A function that sets server IP addresses set in configuration definition data in
destination IP addresses of DHCP/BOOTP packets and relays packets between
subnets when DHCP/BOOTP servers and DHCP/BOOTP clients are in different
subnets.

DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol)

A protocol for auto-configuration of IP addresses at the time of network connection.
It has relay agent, server and client functions.
