7.8.2

No communication is possible in VRRP configuration

Locate the possible cause according to the failure analysis shown in the table below
when no communication is possible in VRRP configuration.

7.8.3

No communication is possible in tunnel interface

Confirm as described below when it is considered that a communication failure has
been caused by a tunnel line.

7.8.3.1

Confirmation of State

Confirm the relevant tunnel line state using a show interfaces command. Confirm
the displayed tunnel line state as shown in the table below.

Confirmation contents and command

Remedy

1

Confirm the state of the virtual router in
the remote router constituting an identical
virtual router and the router and then
confirm that one router is used as a
master router and that other routers are
used as backup routers.

Confirm the route information of a route in a communication route
including the router when only one router is in the master state
between the routers constituting an identical virtual router and when
other routers are in the backup state.

Proceed to item No. 2 when the state of a virtual router is normal.

2

Confirm that the virtual router state of the
remote router constituting an identical
virtual router and the router is not in the
master state.

Proceed to item No. 3 when multiple virtual routers are in the master
state.

Proceed to item No. 5 when multiple virtual routers are not in the
master state.

3

Confirm the communication between
master routers in an actual IPv6 address
using a ping ipv6 command.

Confirm the physical network configuration between the routers
constituting a virtual router when communication is not possible by
the actual IPv6 address between master routers.

Proceed to item No. 4 when communication canbe confirmed using
a ping ipv6 command by the actual IPv6 address between master
routers.

4

Confirm the statistical information of
VRRP using a show vrrpstatus detail
command.

Reconfirm the configuration definition information of the router and
remote router when an error occurs in the reception packet of
VRRP.

Confirm the remote router when the packet of VRRP is received
normally. Confirm the physical configuration of a network when no
packet is received.

5

Confirm the state when a failure
monitoring interface is defined.

Confirm that another virtual router is defined in the interface in
which a failure monitoring interface is defined and that the failure
monitoring interface of the virtual router is not the interface of the
relevant virtual router. Delete the definition of either of the failure
interfaces when the failure monitoring interface is the interface of
the relevant virtual router.

Proceed to item No. 6 when the failure monitoring interface
described above is not defined.

6

Confirm that the advertisement packet of
VRRP is not set so that it is discarded in
the definition of a filter.

Change the definition of a filter so that the advertisement packet of
VRRP is not discarded when the relevant filter is defined.

Confirm the operation of the remote router constituting an identical
virtual router when a filter is not defined.
