Step 1. Insert RPs.
Insert a desired amount of RPs in the empty slots in accordance with the
GR2000 Installation Guide.
Step 2. Insert NIFs.
If necessary, insert a desired number of NIFs in the empty slots in
accordance with the GR2000 Installation Guide.
Step 3. Start the operation of RPs.
Start the operation of the additionally inserted RPs by entering the following
command from the device management terminal. By doing so, the NIFs
under the control of the additional RPs also start operating.
free rp <RP No.> [CR] (RP No.: Target RP number)
Step 4. Define the configuration information.
If necessary, define the configuration information in accordance with
GR2000 Configuration Settings.
(3) Concurrent Upgrade of NIFs
Figure 8-29 shows the steps for upgrading of the NIFs while the power is on. Details
of each step follow the figure.
