If the ROM date based on the version command in the procedure of Figure 8-14 is
later than Sep 20 11:18:01 2000 JST, execute the modeset reset boot command and
initialize the startup slot setting. Accurately reenter if the display results indicated in
Figure 8-14 are not obtained after executing the
modeset command.
Step 5. Configure-on the standby BCU:
Swapping only the standby BCU does not cause the standby BCU to act as
a backup system in a duplexed configuration. After performing Step 4, you
must enter the command shown below from the device management
terminal connected to the active side.
> free standby [CR]
Confirm that the EMA SUPPRESS LED on the RM-I/O board of both
systems is not lit and the operation status of the standby system is
standby. To confirm standby system operation status, enter the
show router
command shown below from the operation terminal connected to the
operation system.
> show router [CR]
Figure 8-15 shows the show router command results.

For ROUTE-OS7, restart an MPLS program in standby BCU using a restart mpls
command after confirming that standby BCU has been put into the active state
(normal duplex operational state). See Application Guide for details. [ROUTE-OS7]
