If the routing information is not built, the cause may be one of the following:

RIP transmission is turned off in the interface information setting (the
destination router cannot perform RIP study).

Required RIP static information is not set (not necessary when study RIP is used).

Operation recognition mismatch between routers (one side is set to perform RIP
transmission, and the other is set not to perform RIP transmission).

Network address set for interface mismatch between routers.

5.10.1.4

Confirmation of communication

Confirm that IPX level router communication is available from device A to device B by
using the ping ipx command.

If the response comes back, the routing is set correctly. If the response does not
come back or the error state ends after entering the command, reconfirm the routing
information setting. When using ping, note that ping uses echo packet. If an
intervening router cannot relay echo packets between devices A and B, a timeout will
result.

5.10.1.5

Confirmation of Server Information

Ensure that SAP information (server information) is registered to the client’s router
(device A) by using the show ipx servers command. SAP information can be built
dynamically using SAP information exchange between routers. SAP information also
can be built by stopping SAP information periodic transmission and setting up the
routing entry statically, such as when connecting via WAN. Either way, ensure it,
since the communication (log in to server) is unavailable unless the SAP information
or target server is built.
