1 Check last down reason which is a result
indication of the show mpls ldp command Go to item (3) if the reason the Targeted LDP session last changed
from UP to Down is currently displayed.
"--" means that the Targeted LDP session was never established. In
that case, go to item (2).
2 Check the statistical information of the
hello message. If the reception count is 0, the hello message has not arrived from
the remote LSR. Check the state of the remote router and of the
link.
The destination IP address of the hello message of a targeted LDP
session must be the local address of the unit. Check to see if the
local address of the unit is specified as the destination IP address of
the hello message of the targeted LDP session at the remote LSR.
If the hello message has been received, check the state of the tcp
connection of the Targeted LDP session. Also check the state of the
remote LSR.
3 Check the displayed message of last
down reason of the show mpls ldp
detailed command. The display configuration changed or unsupported hardware
indicates that the configuration definition has been altered. Check
the configuration definition.
The display of hello expired indicates the hello message will no
longer be delivered from the remote LSR. Check the state of the
remote router and of the link.
The display Keepalive expired indicates the Keepalive message will
no longer be delivered from the remote LSR. Check the state of the
remote router and of the link.
If the display shows illegal message received, the Targeted LDP
session has forcibly been released due to an illegal message
received from the remote LSR.*
If the display shows notification message received, the Targeted
LDP session has forcibly been released due to a notification
message received from the remote LSR.*
If the display shows unknown, the Targeted LDP session has been
released for a reason other than the above.
Note *
If the Targeted LDP session is faulty for any of these reasons, the Targeted LDP session will normally be restored in
automatically. If the Targeted LDP session is not restored after a while, check the state of the remote router.
