(b) Confirmation of Name Server Setting

Confirm that the name server has been set.

The name server’s IP address need not be set if the name server’s automatic deriving
function is used by effectively setting the PPPoE function or the DHCP client
function. In this case, if the name server set’s condition remains the same, the
automatically acquired information will not be transferred to the DNS relay.
Therefore, to make effective the automatically acquired name server information,
delete the name server information in the configuration definition.

Confirmation of Name Server

Even if an anomaly has occurred in this device, communication may not be possible
if the name server has been down or if an un-routable IP address has been set.
Confirm the normality and the status of the information related to the name server.

(a) Confirmation of Normality in IP Address

Confirm again that there is no mistake in the IP address set by using the
configuration definition command

dns-resolver

. In the case of an automatically

derived IP address, confirm its normality upon checking with the controller of the
distributed parties (PPPoE and DHCP server).

(b) Confirmation of Routing to Name Server

Perform a rapport test to confirm that there are no problems between the IP address
set using the configuration definition command

dns-resolver

or the automatically

derived IP address and this device.

(c) Confirmation of Name Server Actuation

Contact the name server controller.

7.5.6

No communication is possible in VRRP configuration

Locate the possible cause according to the failure analysis shown in the table below
when no communication is possible in VRRP configuration.

Confirm that the name server’s
IP address has been set.
