Setting the redundant configuration

4.7.1

Setting using command

For the item on the router operation shown below, the operation method can be
changed in the outer. Use a set mode command when changing the operation
method.

4.7.2

Operation in extended duplex mode

The extended duplex mode that is one of the redundant configuration settings does
not suppress the mode switching due to a failure or using a command even when
configuration definition information does not coincide with the software version. In
this mode, the EMA SUPPRESS LED indicator does not light even if the configuration
definition information and software version do not coincide. RP is restarted so that
operation information coincides when mode switching occurs in the extended duplex
mode and inconsistency state. Software is written in RP flash memory when the
software version does not coincide. More time is therefore required than with normal
start time.

Do not operate a router in the extended duplex mode. Each mode may be switched
due to failure. Set the extended duplex mode before the mode is switched and return
it to the former mode after switching. It is recommended not to set an extended
duplex mode when a basic control module is operated as backup.

4.7.3

Precautions during operation of MPLS Function [ROUTE-OS7]

The time of standby BCU is adjusted to that of active BCU when duplex operation is
started or when standby BCU is extended or replaced. The partial function in the
active mode may not properly operate when the time in the standby mode is
returned. To avoid this problem, restart an MPLS program in standby BCU using a
restart mpls command after confirming that the time in the standby mode coincides
with that in the active mode. For more details, see Applications Guide, 9.3.5,
Precautions during duplex operation.

Table 4-5 Change item of operation method

Item

Description

Basic control module operation mode

For GR2000-6H, GR2000-10H, and GR2000-20H, the basic control
module (BCU) can be redundant-configured. Specify whether to operate
in duplex or simplex redundant configuration.

Power supply operation mode

For GR2000-4S, GR2000-6H, GR2000-10H, and GR2000-20H, the
power supply can be redundant-configured. Specify whether to perform
redundant configuration. For the redundant configuration, when a router
is operated or either power is not connected due to power failure, the
phenomenon is judged to be a failure and an operation log is collected.

Preferred MC during router start

Specify the slot position of MC to be preferentially read during router
start when MC is installed in two MC slots in a basic control module
(BCU) for operation.
