Changing the network configuration

In the router, perform the operation in Subsection 6.6.1, “Adding the boards” to
Subsection 6.6.4, “Exchanging configuration definition information” when the
configuration of a network is changed during operation.

6.6.1

Adding the boards

RP and NIF boards may have to be exchanged or added when a function with storage
conditions is added to the network configuration. (See the Application Guide, for the
function with storage conditions.) See Section 8.4, “Removal/Addition of Boards and
Physical Memory
” for the procedure for RP and NIF board exchange or addition.

6.6.2

Backing up operational configuration definition information

It is recommended the operational configuration definition information be backed up
before and after a change when the contents of operational configuration definition
information are significantly changed due to the change in the network
configuration. See GR2000 Configuration Settings for details of the operation.

6.6.3

Creating preliminary configuration definition information file

It is recommended that a preliminary configuration definition information file be
created in advance when the contents of operational configuration definition
information are significantly changed due to the change in the network
configuration. See GR2000 Configuration Settings for details of the operation.

6.6.4

Exchanging configuration definition information

Using a configuration definition command, the backed-up configuration definition
information file is used for operation or the configuration definition information file of
new network configuration is used for operation.

6.6.4.1

Use a preliminary configuration definition information file for operation.

The current configuration definition information file of MC is rewritten when a
configuration definition information file is exchanged for operation using a
configuration definition command (CLI Type 1) (copy). After the configuration
definition information file is rewritten, operation starts according to the contents of
the changed file. At that time, notice if communication is disconnected when the user
is logging in via a network because the port in operation is restarted.
